It's logical if you just have started, it would be difficult to paint something beautiful and correct. And it would be best if you accepted it. You are trying, playing, discovering, and struggling. But in general, it doesn't matter; you have to enjoy it. If there's at least one thing you like or have done properly, it's already enough... for today, of course.⠀
⠀
Most people quit painting/drawing because they cannot keep their internal critic calm. You are just starting, and you are allowed to make mistakes because it's only one way to learn.⠀
About critics from outside, your family, friends, etc. Just ignore them, even if they have an art degree. If they gently give advice, say thanks and try. If it's something like it looks awful, etc., just let it go.⠀

Below, as usual, is my story. One guy, let's name him Rolan, always was commenting on my art pieces with not nice remarks, even though I didn't ask him. I was showing my work to my sister. He was my sister's boyfriend, and he did study drawings. So, I thought I had to listen, but it was painful.⠀
⠀
I started to paint the oil portrait of my sister, and they came to visit us. So, in one of our chats, he told me everything was wrong. I asked him to show me how to do that properly. He tried in 3hrs and then showed it to my sister. Her comment was: "Do you see me as a monster? Am I so ugly?" That canvas was covered by a thick layer of burnt umber and used for another painting.⠀

More stories in the next post. Let me know if you find it interesting.⠀
I will speak to you soon.
